Sixteen years later a simple hobby grew into a full-time business of designing and creating products for culinary, home, bath and work. Join Marina and her team for workshops in her Honey House Barn and prepare to be inspired! Groups are welcome.

LEARN BASIC BEEKEEPING AT RED BEE APIARY

Have you ever dreamed of keeping a hive of your own honeybees? Beekeeper and author, Marina Marchese will be presenting an basic overview of what it takes to set and manage a colony of honeybees. Learn about the basic beekeepers tools, the caste of bees inside a hive and their jobs, management techniques, pest and diseases, and how to harvest your own honey. We will not be opening up the hives for inspection during these workshops however there will be a hive

( no bees), tools and equipment for students to handle first hand.​ There will be samples of honey to taste afterwards.

These workshops are held at Red Bee apiary in Weston, CT and organized by local Continuing Education. Please choose from the dates below and formally register and pay directly to that organization.

Local beekeeper, author, and founder of Red Bee Honey, Marina Marchese will teach you how to set up a new colony of honeybees as well as the basics on managing them throughout the year to honey harvest and everything in between. Attendees will be treated to a taste of honey afterwards. No experience necessary, just curiosity and a creative spirit! If you are interested in starting beekeeping, now is the time to learn and plan for spring 2020 beekeeping season. Held at Red Bee Honey Barn, Weston; directions will be emailed prior to class.
